“Realising Africa’s Potential”

7 January 2021: HE Ambassador Marie NDJEKA was invited to a live presentation by Lord Dolar Popat, Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Rwanda, Uganda and DRC, followed by an exclusive panel discussion with Mayur Madhvani, Vimal Shah and Ken Giami to explore opportunities available to invest in Africa and unleash a new generation of British entrepreneurs.

With Brexit delivered and a new Trade Deal signed, we are finally free of the directives of the imperial Brussels. We might be rolling out vaccines, but in the wake of the pandemic, the UK will be left poorer, more indebted and unemployment will be soaring. Business as usual is not an option.

If Britain is to have a roaring 20s, one of the key policies to accelerate economic growth is to engage with key emerging markets, such as the subcontinent of Africa. Global Britain is a fine idea – however it should not be just be a slogan. With so many of our community members originating from Africa, this is the ideal opportunity to reconnect with our roots, whilst playing a pivotal role in our economic recovery.

We must think afresh. Realising Africa’s potential would unleash the British tigers. Now is the time to unleash the British Indian tiger and become global Britain!
