Africa Day 2021

Africa Day 2021 was celebrated virtually on 15th June 2021.

The celebration was opened by H.E Estifanos Habtemariam, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the United Kingdom and Ireland and the Dean of the African Union Group, Heads of Mission in London UK.

The UK Undersecretary of State at the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Hon. James Duddridge, expressed his admiration of African culture and heritage.

The keynote speaker was H.E Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Chairperson of the African Union.

Twenty-nine African nations highlighted the rich culture and heritage of their respective countries by presenting a short film.

The evening was closed with the remarks made by H.E Linda Scott, Namibian High Commissioner to the UK and Northern Ireland, who is also the chairperson of the Social Committee. She thanked the Dean of Africa Group, H.E Ambassador Estifanos Habtemariam, MC Ms. Juliana Olayinka and the production team at the Eritrean Embassy Media.
